Squirrels are omnivores; they eat a wide variety of plant food, including nuts, seeds, conifer cones, fruits, fungi and green vegetation, as well as insects, but in case of baby squirrel, you can give liquid or soft forms of these foods.
Get in touch with your local wildlife council. Here in Australia it is called W.I.R.E.S (Wildlife Information Rescue %26amp; Education Service).

I don't know what else to tell you, except good luck and I certainly hope Changu is healthy.
You're soo lucky...

Well, you can give him milk and can also give him some soft pieces of bread, soft fruits, which is easy to digest for him. Give him some time to recover. But you can consult doc for further assistance.

Best of luck, Changu!

May God Bless You and your littel Changu.

Sorry dear.....even i don't know anything about baby squirrel. Please try to get some more information from net.
Employ the baby squirrel. Use him to entertain your cats.
You should keep until his/her parents return to find it.
you may go to a veterinary doctor i hope that u know some of the doc's near u.
Awww... so sweet of you... I can't help I know nothing about a squirrel sorry
teach them that its not good thing
i will take care of it
You might be able to use hand feeding formula for parrots. Their diets are quite similar. If you can't find that in your area a simple recipe is corn flour, not corn meal, but corn flour which is sold here as masa de maize. Mix it with a little bit of fruit and vegetable baby food and a small drop of baby vitamins. Add enough water and since this is a mammal a small amount of milk to make a thin gruel.

You do realize that animal parents will often throw out of the nest young that they know are not viable. Hopefully this is not the case. Good Luck!!
Get them to a rehabber asap. It is illegal for you to care for them without proper training. If you feed them the wrong food, they will get severe gastrointestinal problems and die, also feeding them improperly can lead to aspiration - milk in the lungs, this also leads to death. They are also diffacult to care for, as babies that small need to be fed every 3 hours all day and all night. They can also develop diseases like metabolic bone disease, in which they would never survive in the wild with.

Until you can find a rehabber in your area, keep them warm on a heating pad. I know they are cute, and adorable, and it seems easy to raise them, but without training you cannot care for them properly, and its not fair to the squirrels, they deserve a high quality of life.

You're a very sweet, compassionate person, and I'm glad there are people like you in the world. Sometimes I wonder.

It would be far better to feed him a milk ';formula';. The kind you find in stores for human babies. Straight Cow's milk, even boiled, is probably not as good. But, it sounds like he's responding to your care.

If you've had him more than 4 or 5 days already and he seems OK, you're doing fine.

I would suggest taking some unsalted nuts and grinding them to a powder. Mix that with some of the milk and place it in a saucer and see if he'll take that by lapping it up. If he does, that's good, and he'll grow stronger each day. As he gets bigger and bigger, you can start feeding him seeds then nuts. Raw is better and healthier for him. Also, if you offer him fruit, like cut grapes or melon, even now at his young age, if he eats them or laps at them, that's good, and it will only help him grow up.

I could help you more, but I can't tell by your description exactly what stage of growth he is. Does he have hair, or is he bare and almost hairless? Can he run around in his cage, or does he stay in a nest?

Don't hesitate to email me if you have any other questions or need any further help.

Take care of the little guy, and he'll love you for it.

PS - I don't understand why it would be against the law to have a Squirrel. Strange...
