HELP ME!! my baby squirrel is gagging and wont close his mouth???

he did this the other day; but then he has fine after a couple of mins..


but he hasn't stopped yet.

first off you should be feeding it scalded cow milk and yogurt mix only a little yogurt( scalding it you put it in the microwave for about 50 seconds) it can not live on sugar water it will die. it is not getting the calcium and magnesium it needs. when you are feeding it you have to go at its pace not yours or it will breathe in the liquid and aspirate and again it will die. even when you are going at its pace every once and awhile they will hold there mouth open . usually they are trying to push the rest of the liquid down there throat, just take a paper towel and clear out there mouth then put your finger in front of its mouth till it starts to suck again. Make sure you are not feeding it to much. how old is it, do you have a pick, if you do i can tell you. That lady is a cow... Poor squirrel. Do you mean gagging, like choking? I guess if it's like he has hiccups, he's breathing ok for the most part. 2 weeks old... What is he eating? It can't be anything that's going to get caught in there, right? Maybe he actually does have hiccups. I suppose all you can do is wait and see if he stops, and make sure there isn't anything that he is choking on... Don't fuss with him too much though. Extra stress on a 2 week old squirrel can't be too good.
poor thing! It is the strangest thing to see someone own a squirrel!!! There is a boy on my street with one that rides on his back and i just now discoved it was a squirrel 3 weeks ago. To answer your question i really dont know, sorry. Did the lady give him to u gagging? Since she is more experienced i would ask her what to do, tell her that your not giving him back and not to worry but just asking for help.
How long has it been going on? If I were you I'd go to a wildlife rescue and ask them for their input.





How'd you get a squirrel, anyway? I had a squirrel once- it's mom was run over so I took it in. I raised it for a few months and let him go at my grandparents woods. I still go back and visit him! =]





Anyway, I would ask a wildlife place as soon as you can, because that doesnt sound normal.
are squirrels supposed to be having sugar in their water and milk?


that could be the cause if hes getting too much sugar or if he ate something and you didnt see him eat it


take him to the vet if it doesnt stop within 30 minutes!!
