What do I do with the baby squirrel?!!!?

A baby squirrel came right up to the front porch when I got home from school and seems very attached to us. We saw another squirrel looking for something, so we brought the baby over to it (wearing gloves, of course). But the other squirrel completely dismissed the baby and took off. The baby keeps coming over to us and we can't find any other squirrels. What do we do?What do I do with the baby squirrel?!!!?
I am not sure where you live. But our animal control will not come to do wild animals. Is he hungry?you can give him unsalted peanuts etc.I had raccoons in between my lower floor and middle floor and couldnt get them out!

my brother in law has one that comes in his house every saturday morning and eats peanuts sitting there.

My neighbors took several in during a hurricane they ran around like cats and dogs in the house.Crazy!

i would just lay out some nuts for him...?havent really dealt w baby ones ..the older ones are the ones that come around here. What do I do with the baby squirrel?!!!?
Wild animals will rarely come up to a human. They're usually sick if they do, because a healthy wild animal will stay away from humans. Squirrels can have fleas, ticks and other diseases, including rabies. Squirrels also bite a lot, and a bite from a sick animal is extremely dangerous. Leave it alone and don't bother it.

Also, that other squirrel wasn't necessarily it's mother. Squirrels are always looking for something, because they need to find food. And even if it was, a squirrel will take off when it sees a human coming. Leave the baby where you found it, and the mother should come get it. Hopefully, the mother will come back for it.
Worst thing to do- Is take it in and do something yourself. It's cute, I know, but it's still a wild animal and you do not know if it could have rabies, be safe than sorry.

Humans untreated extremely soon with rabies if ever exposed through a bite of an infected animal ultimately results in 100% death - I know this through my experience with someone who woke up with a bat in her room - the county health clinic told me a vast amount of knowledge on this.

I would call the Humane Society. Though they mostly take care of domestic animals, they may either still take care of the squirrel (releasing it to wildlife) or refer you to another possible free organization who can otherwise do the same thing.

Sorry to scare you, but too many people do not know the dangers of handling wild animals.
I would call the local animal shelter or SPCA. We had a baby bunny in our garage and we took it there. They will nurse it and make it used to outside so it can be re-released outside. Do not take it far away, it could die, as it is only a baby. Animal control may hurt it. The SPCA or animal shelter is the best bet. Do not assume you can take care of it yourself.
Hmmm... That one's tough. If it gets to attatched, then it might not be afraid of other wild things that might... well... eat it.

I would say take it to the vet and if it's healthy, maybe build it a really nice, big cage out in your yard or something. Make sure that it's got big branches in it so that it can climb around. Maybe try to release it again first, it might decide to leave.

Yes, do try to release it again first.
I think you should go to the pet shop and tell someone.Maybe they can take it and help it.If you keep it, that is bad.
Well, you could call animal control and ask if they can take it (they'll probably nurse it and release it into the wild.) Or you could try to do it yourself.
let it go some where very far like 100 miles away or maybe a nother town
