Where can I purchse or acquire a baby squirrel (fox, gray). I live in Southwest Virginia.?

blah blah. It is illegal to remove an animal from the wild. There are breeders that are licensed to breed and sell these types of animals to individuals. Do a search for the type of animal and breeder (Grey squirrel breeder VA)Be sure to check them out.

You will have to check lots of different level of govt. A squirrel may be a legal pet in VA. it may be legal in your county BUT there may be a city ordinance against them. You have to do some paperwork in most places.

We had a LEGAL red squirrel for many years. He had a rabbit hutch outside with a dog door on it (he came and went as he pleased). We feed all of the squirrels but we had squeaker since he was a baby. He was raised in the house and then at about 1 he moved outside (and was much happier) He came when we called and would crawl up our leg and sit on our shoulder.

Be sure you know what your getting into. Sq. need lots of exercise- they do not make good house pets. They chew, poop and climb. If they know they are going back in the cage you'll never catch em.Where can I purchse or acquire a baby squirrel (fox, gray). I live in Southwest Virginia.?
FOR ONE THOSE ARE WILD AND IT IS ILLEGAL TO KEEP THEM AS PETS!! THEY BELONG IN THE WILD AND YOU SHOULD RESPECT THEM FROM A DISTANCE. IF EVERYONE TOOK BABY WILD ANIMALS FROM THE WILD THEN OUR ECOSYSTEM WOULD SUFFER GREATLY!! GET THAT IDEA OUT OF YOUR HEADWhere can I purchse or acquire a baby squirrel (fox, gray). Well, I live in Virginia and the easiest place to find one, if you really really want one, would be in your backyard!
These animals are wild. That's where they belong. I am sure that the state of VA has laws against keeping of wild animals. You almost need a degree in order to feed them what they need to sustain themselves. Before you bring one home look into it. Why don't you get a ferret, that's a wild creature that man has domesticated? Don't forget to have it rabies vaccinated.
