My friend and I found some baby squirrels that fell out of a tree! How should we care for it?

And is there a law in Georgia about keeping pet squirrels? How do you ';simulate'; the squirrel after feeding? My friend and I found some baby squirrels that fell out of a tree! How should we care for it?
This is probably too late, but if you haven't fed them, don't. Squirrels can be seriously injured by humans feeding them. They should be set in a bin in the tree so that their mother can retrieve them.

Also, to correct some previous statements made, squirrels are not high carriers of rabies. If you must feed them, formula in a syringe is best. Depending how little they are, they only need about 3 cc's of formula, about 4 times a day and should be stimulated before feedings. My friend and I found some baby squirrels that fell out of a tree! You have stumbled upon nature's way of eliminating the weak. Instead of letting nature take its course you have elected to intervene and now you don't know what to do. Shame.
Depending on how young the squirrels are you may want to rethink trying to domesticate it. They carry rabies and because they do not eat meat it will be hard for you to try to feed a squirrel nuts and grass.

You should try to keep it warm and then place it at the bottom of the tree and leave it (but not over night).

Here is an excellent web page for you.

just for fyi when you ';stimulate'; a squirrel you just take a warm cloth and gently rub is over anal opening. It will simulate their mother licking them and they will defecate.
Caring for baby squirrels is very very hard. Get a good milk supplement from the store and mix in a raw egg. Try feeding them with a food dropper or medicine dropper. To stimulate the babies to eleviate themselves, use a warm washcloth and wipe them from front to back starting at their stomachs and ending at their tail base. They need to be stimulated 8-10 times a day and need to be fed the same amount of times. You'll be making and feeding food almost 24/7. After 4 week,s you can begin to add grain and meat to their diets gradually. Start with corn and wheat, move onto raw chicken. Try not to handle the babies too much as you don't want them to bond with you, but to rather return to the wild.
they could have any number of diseases, or fleas. they are also not known to be nice. i would call animal control they can help you.
No idea... I suggest trying the pet forums...

I know they can eat yogart though.... try putting it in a bottle or something... Good luck
