I keep finding dead baby squirrels and birds in my yard pond, why?

So far the death toll is 6 baby squirrels and 2 birds. Do you think something is killing them and putting them in there or are they just falling in? Really weird, I don't know what to think.I keep finding dead baby squirrels and birds in my yard pond, why?
It could be a problem with the water in your pond as someone else has said,or, it could just be that there is no lower level for the animals to get onto to drink from the pond and as they lean over they just fall in and drown!

Have a good look at the layout of the pond itself and see if there is a way to place a rock or something that animals can climb on to reach the water.

Another precaution is to place netting over the pond, so any animal that does fall will just land on the net!

I hope you get it sorted because it can't be nice for you seeing that on a regular basis xI keep finding dead baby squirrels and birds in my yard pond, why?
You might take one of the corpses to fish and wildlife so they can run a test. You might have a serious problem there.
Well I know racoons will wash their food in water... not sure if it is common for them to eat squirrels and birds though.

I think the previous poster may have a good suggestion. Maybe something is wrong with the water in your pond???
uhh theu r babies so they can fall and drown... they r still little and baby birds cant fly when theyre still little so they will drown and squirrels r stupid so they drown too. put chicken wire around it for the squirrels and hope no more birds re gnna fall....
Is it a cat killing them?
They might be falling in there if the sides are slippery.
the loch ness monster is in your pond
why don't you put some netting over the pond then things can't get in it?

Of course you would have to clean it thoroughly first!

:-)
because God has abandoned your house.

Or maybe your septic system is leaking.
