First put the squirrel in a small box and set it right where you found it. Keep all other pets away from it and give Momma squirrel a chance to come get it. She won't be far away. If in an hour or 2 Momma hasn't gotten the baby then immediately call a wilflife rehabber in your area. You can find them by contacting fish and game or looking on the web for wildlife rehabilitator in your state.

Taken from another wildlife rehabber: ';If the babies are warm and healthy and there is a good chance that the mother may still be in the area, we recommend giving her about 2 hours to come back for the babies. If she has not come for them within the 2-hour time frame, then she probably won鈥檛 come for them. Place the babies in a box. You can place this box near the tree or area they came from. Make sure that the babies can鈥檛 get out of the box but the mother will be able to get in and get the babies. If the babies still have their eyes closed, they will need a heat source to help them keep warm. Even on hot summer days baby squirrels can get chilled quickly. A soda bottle filled with hot water and covered with a sock can be placed near the babies. Test to be sure the temperature isn鈥檛 too hot, and place a tee-shirt around it to be sure it doesn鈥檛 roll onto the babies. Supervise the reunion attempt carefully but from a distance. Make sure the babies are safe from natural predators such as cats, dogs, hawks, crows, and snakes. But you must also remain out of mom's sight, so that she feels safe coming for the babies. ';

Please the mother squirrel is the baby's best chance at life, give it the chance to be reunited!

Do not take it to a dog or cat rescue as they are not trained to deal with wildlife and squirrels need very specific care.

What state and city are you in?We found a baby squirrel, How do we help it now?
Call a wild life rehab place, they are everywhere. Do not take him to a dog or cat shelter. In the meantime you can feed him some water, and a little canned puppy formula ( the kitten stuff makes them sick). Look online for a rehabilitator in your area. This happened to me last year and the rehab was able to care for the baby squirrel and release him.

Also make sure you keep him very warm, between 85-90 degrees or they can get hypothermia quickly. You can use a heating pad, hot water bottle, or space heater.

That is a website specifically for baby squirells.

First you need to locate a wilflife Rehab centre.

Do not feed it anything it could hurt it.

Keep it warm, in a beanie hat would be good, make sure it is not scratchy. You can also fill a hot water bottle up with well the Ideal temperature is 98.5 degree water. And wrap a towel around the water bottle and then put the baby on top.

But call the wildlife people first. Call your local vet, they always have wildlife rehab numbers in their posession.
i found a squirrel last year, and i live in VA. we tried putting her in our backyard, but she was so scared, so we took her back in our house. and my dad called a woman who has a squirrel rehabilitation place. but do NOT put your baby squirrel into the wild, as her eyes are not open, and she could easily die. and do NOT put your baby squirrel into a dog and cat rehab center. they wouldn't know what to do with it, and might not take it in. so, try your best to find a squirrel rehab center. if you can't, maybe try to find a way to feed it yourself. warm milk, out of a bottle. i would wait until its eyes open to give it food. not solid food either. maybe some raisins.
fist if it is hurt take it to a dog and cat rescue but if is not hurt try feeding him milk out of a baby bottle if he likes it do it for week or to then let him go
nurse him back to help. of find a place that will. don't touch him though, he might have disease's that could hurt you or make you sick. :C
call the dnr
