Once you get it set up, don't change it's cage or it will become stressed. Since they smell the food and water, you can set it up any way you like. Make sure he gets sun daily and a balanced diet. Be sure you talk softly to him as often as you can and you will have a wonderful relationship that will be very rewarding.I was recently given a blind baby squirrel. In many states, it is illegal to care for a wild animal if you do not have the proper state (and sometimes federal permits) to do so. I would highly recommend that you look at the link I've provided and contact a wildlife rehabilitator near you. They are able to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals; and they have the experience and knowledge to do so. Please do what is in the best interest of the squirrel and contact someone tomorrow. Many people who are just trying to help, actually do more harm than good when it comes to wild animals.

Have the poor thing euthanized! He will have no quality of life if you get him to live and ....
keep it in cage when you're not playing with it. a healthy squirrel can be trouble enough, but a blind one will keep you from doing anything but trying to find him
And don't listen to these idiots telling you to just kill it. It can still be a great pet, but you'll have to take more care of it than normal.
yes a wild animal is just that and a rodent as rabbit raisers will tell you is constantly chewing and gnawing on anything to keep their teeth worn down so thats the problem it will chew everything night and day
First, I would check with authorities. It is illegal to have a squirrel as a pet in most states. If it's fine in your state, good luck! I have no clue. ;)
