I have squirrels in my backyard who eat peanuts our of my hand, but they are too timid to get any closer to me.I am dying for a baby squirrel, where can i get one or how can i find one? i know that some fall from trees???
In most states, it is illegal to take animals from the wild and keep them as pets.

There are some states that allow squirrels, chipmunks and flying squirrels to be kept as pets, but they usualy must be purchased from a USDA licensed breeder (or a store or dealer who got them from a licensed breeder), not just taken from the wild.

If you are serious about getting a squirrel for a pet, check here first to make sure that it is legal in your state: http://www.api4animals.org/b4a2_exotic_a鈥?/a>

If you find that squirrels are legal in your state, you still need to check with your county and municipality, because many individual counties and municipalities restrict the ownership of animals that are otherwise legal in the state.

If you determine that it is legal for you to have them as pets, please research them very thoroughly before you get one - they are not the best pet for everyone.I am dying for a baby squirrel, where can i get one or how can i find one? i know that some fall from trees???
u want a squirrel as a pet??

can u even do that?

well, i suggest waiting till it comes tumblin down from a tree

why not try geting a dog. or a hamster, at least theyre small like them.

a SQUIRREL???
Keeping wild animals as pets is usually illegal. Why not get a legal domesticated animal for a pet. You and it will be much happier.
SQUIRRELS CARRY DISEASES.

YOU WILL DIE!

Well, stop it.

They're cute but I don't think they make good pets. They also carry diseases. Why not get something else just as cute...like a hamster? Hamsters make great pets!
Please don't think about taking a baby squirrel from the wild to be a pet. :( They CAN survive in captivity, but it's not what they're meant for! And the truth is, most babies that get lost or abandoned end up dead. If you found a lost baby, you really really should take it to a shelter where they'll know how to take care of it to give it the best chance of survival. If you really want to handle squirrels, why not ask the local wildlife shelter if they need any help from a willing volunteer? :)
dont try to get a wild baby squirrel because they might carry a deseace or something so i suggest to go to a store where they sell baby squirrels so it will get used to you and youll be sure that it doesnt have any diseases.
u will have to order them...
