it might have rabis or some other disease. i would leave it alone.

there are plenty of squirrels out there.
Get him to a local wildlife rehabilitator asap! you can keep him warm with a heating pad on low or a sock w/rice in it. don't give him anything to eat or drink. (many people in their best intentions try but it only causes worse problems) He needs vet care immediately or he will die! I don't know where you live or I would do a search for you. most wildlife centers are nonprofit so they don't require any money although donations are much appreciated!!!!
If it were me, I'd take it to a veterinarian; but then you'd have to pay for it. If you can afford to help it, that's what I would suggest. Only a veterinarian can know what's needed to heal him. Other than that, there's not much you can do. Either it's his time to pass, or you are there to save his life by taking him to a vet. Only God knows which it is.

P.S. Don't decide to keep it as a pet when it gets well. Squirrels are wild animals and meant to remain in the wild. It would seriously be traumatized if you tried to make it into a house pet.
I am raising a 3 week old female baby grey squirrel right now as I type this. What you need to do is find a heating pad, turn it to low. Baby squirrels need to be at a temp about 95 degrees. Once the baby is warn you can feed him/her with an eye dropper (every 2 hours during the day, and at night its every 4 hours) with Gerber baby cereal. All you do is mix a little water in it. (I already raised one squirrel with this stuff and he turned out to be one of the most healthy bright colored squirrels ive ever seen.) After feeding, you need to take a wet warm cotton ball and wash their private parts. This would be like the mother cleaning up after her baby. this also stimulates peeing.
He needs warmth asap, get a hot water bottle filled with hot water and wrap a towel round it. put the squirrel on top and cover him over witha towel. He needs help. ring your local wildlife rescue.

i run a rescue in the midlands. whereabouts are you located?

ya there are lots of squirrels out there but there a lot of people out there too and when you see a dyeing person you dont just leave them suffer and walk away. You should try ringing a vet first and if it does get better you could keep it as a pet if you want.
If you truly believe it is dying call your local wildlife rescue.

If you are unsure then see if you could find the squirrel nest nearby. If you find the nest you can put him in a basket or bucket with leaves or old cloth to keep it warm near the nest. Keep an eyeout to see if the mother comes back and claims the baby. If several hours pass and the mama squirrel doesn't return for it then call your local wildlife rescue. They will nurse it back to health or euthanize if it is too far gone. In anycase you can usually find out the outcome they will provide an id number to you.

Do a search to find the nearest wildlife rescue to you.
wrap it in foil with a few bacon strips and some garlic and put it on the barbie
I would get him to a vet immediately! It's possible that it may have rabies, but still don't just leave him out there - everyone deserves the chance at life!

Hope it helps and good luck!
